Some of my Future Plans for the development of Chandigarh

Long Term Planning for Chandigarh to ensure all round development.
Public Participation in Decision Making, by involving the city residents in formulation of policies and taking decisions that affect them, through various platforms like discussion forums, internet, SMS.
Establishment of Interstate Development Council for the proper planning and development of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali, on the pattern of NCR.
Establishment of Chandigarh Metro Rail for Chandigarh and adjoining areas of Mohali, Panchkula, etc.
Flyovers and Underpasses in Chandigarh to ease traffic congestion and regulate flow of traffic.
Early completion of the International Airport.
Multistoreyed/Underground Parking in each Locality.
Creating Good Sports facilities in every neighbourhood, by keeping exclusive share for Youth-centric projects in MPLADS.
Early Completion of Chandigarh-Ludhiana Railway Line.
Establishment of Non-polluting Power Plant in Chandigarh to permanently solve the electricity problem of Chandigarh.
Construction of Dam over river Ghaggar, to provide water for drinking and Irrigation as well as Electricity.
One Community Centre, Dispensary and School in each sector, village and colony out of MPLADS Funds.
Overbridge/Underbridge on Manimajra & Vikas Nagar Railway Crossing.
To make Chandigarh an Education Hub, with specialised career-oriented courses and to establish top educational institutions like IIT, IIM, etc.
Getting ‘A’ Class Status to Chandigarh, so that employees get DA and other benefits on Central Government pattern.
Establishment of Chandigarh Service Selection Board, to ensure share of residents of Chandigarh in Government Jobs.
Permission for construction of Additional Floor on all Residential, Commercial & Industrial Units in Chandigarh.
Regularisation of need-based changes in houses in Chandigarh – like monir changes in structure, construction of additional room, partition of one room to form two rooms, etc.
Granting Ownership to residents of 13 Type Houses on Hire-Purchase Basis.
Comprehensive Housing Policy for Chandigarh.
Comprehensive Sports Policy for Chandigarh, so that our local players need not play for other states for making a career in sports.
Balanced Rent Act for Chandigarh.
Fair Compensation for land acquisition, not less than what is being paid in Punjab.
Introduction of more trains from Chandigarh.
Getting 3% share of Chandigarh in electricity from BBMB, so that city residents can get more supply of electricity at a cheaper price.
Helpline for Senior Citizens, to provide them assistance regarding health and other issues.
4 more CGHS Dispensaries all across Chandigarh.
Regularisation of houses outside ‘Lal Dora’.
Proper Development of Southern Sectors.
Rehabilitation and redevelopment of slum areas, making Chandigarh Slum Free.
Strengthening the Infrastructure for proper maintenance of Law and Order.
Creation of Multiple Job opportunities by promoting IT, Biotech & other sectors by combining Good Business Environment with a world class Infrastructure to support the workforce.
Steps to make Chandigarh’s Economy ‘Recession proof’- Setting a hub of non-polluting Industries as well as Tourism near Chandigarh, to provide permanent support to the city’s economy.
Abolition of Paid Parking and provision of free regulated parking in the markets.
