‘Sarav Dharam Sambhav’ is the basic essence of Indian Culture – Satya Pal Jain

Chandigarh. July 16, 2022. Sh. Satya Pal Jain Ex MP and ASG Government of India has said that “Sarav Dharam Sambhav” that is equal respect for all religions is the basic essence of Indian Culture, Tradition and Religious Heritage. He said that this is, even otherwise also, the true meaning and message of all religions in the world.

             Sh. Jain was speaking as a chief guest in the “Inter-Religious Prayer & Communal Harmony Seminar” in Catholic Church Sector 19-A, Chandigarh today evening.  

             Sh. Jain, quoting from various religious scriptures said that the message of all religious heads and Gurus have been of universal brotherhood and co existence. He said that it was keeping in view the belief of Indian forefathers of “Vasu Dev Kutumbkam” i.e. the whole world is one family, that the Indian Constitution framers decided to make India a true secular State. He said that the real strength of India lies in people belonging to different caste, creed, language and religion, living together by adopting the approach of “coordination” and “cooperation” instead of “confrontation”.

             He said that communal harmony is a must for the overall development of the country and this can be strengthened by this type of seminars being organised by all the religious leaders at different places and giving a message to the whole world that in spite of India being a country of different religions, still all Indians are one.

             The representatives of different religions also addressed the gathering. Among others, who spoke in the seminar included Bishop Ingnatius, Mr. Arnus Masih, Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Mr. Arvind Noel, Sister Manisha, Mr. Anil Sarval, Mr. Gurpreet Singh and Mufti Anas.

                The programme ended with the prayers for maintaining communal harmony by various religious leaders.
